Grilled Veggies with Garlic Tahini Sauce

Grilled Veggies with Garlic Tahini SauceWahoo!! This is a momentous week–we are finally moving back aboard our sailboat five months after our boat fire. It’s so good to finally be home! And a huge shout-out again to our many friends who took us in or had house sitting opportunities for us. We are grateful.

We took advantage of the wonderful homes we had the good fortune to house-sit. Several of them had grills right outside the back door, which made it easy to grill veggies and fish almost every night.

Recently I bought some garlic-tahini sauce at Whole Foods and tried it on our grilled veggies. I’m now completely addicted. Luckily I was able to suss out the recipe to make my own, and am happy to share it with you here. Try your grilled veggies with this amazing garlic tahini sauce, for a taste-bud extravaganza!

Grilled Veggies with Garlic Tahini Sauce

We usually grill what ever veggies we have on hand. Some of my favorites include fennel, asparagus and multi-colored cherry tomatoes. Golden beets and purple carrots are another fun way to get all the colors of the rainbow into your diet. And we also just discovered alderwood smoked sea salt, which adds a wonderful smokey flavor to your grilled veggies too.

Grilled Veggie Ingredients
1-2 lbs Fresh Organic Veggies of your choice
2-3 TBSP Organic Olive Oil, to coat veggies
Seasoning spices, salt, pepper, to taste

Directions
Wash and cut up veggies. Toss in a large bowl with olive oil and your favorite spices.

Grill harder veggies like carrots and fennel a bit longer than things like tomatoes and asparagus. As with grilling anything, some people prefer their grilled veggies al dente, while others like them more done, so experiment.

Drizzle this Garlic Tahini Sauce over your grilled veggies… bet you’ll be coming back for seconds!

Garlic Tahini Sauce Ingredients
6 tablespoons tahini
4 tablespoons nutritional yeast
4 tablespoons lemon juice
4 tablespoons cider vinegar
4 tablespoons, or to taste, Braggs Liquid Aminos or Gluten-free Soy Sauce
6 to 8 larg garlice cloves, minced (or less if you don’t want it so garlicky.)

Directions
Place all ingredients into food processor or blender, and pulse until all ingredients are well blended.

Enjoy! And please leave me a comment to let me know what you think.

That sounds delicious! I was just wondering what we should do with th rest of our tahini. I just finished a 3-week sugar free, caffeine free, alcohol free, gluten free, processed foods free, vegan cleanse. Shockingly the food was pretty good. Now I just need to continue making healthy choices so this sounds perfect! Thanks, Heidi!
